Our website is temporarily offline
We’ve taken our main website offline as a precaution while we apply security updates. You’re viewing a simplified, temporary version.
Last updated 23 October 2026
What happened
Security vulnerabilities were recently disclosed in PHP, the software that our website platform runs on. These issues affect many websites around the world, not only ours.
To protect our visitors and our systems, we chose to take the full website offline while we update and test it, rather than leave it running in the meantime.
What this means for you
While the full site is offline, these features aren’t available:
- online donations and changes to recurring donations
- the contact form and newsletter sign-up
- news stories, country pages, fact sheets and publications
- site search and translated versions of the site
Key information about our method and frequently asked questions is still available here. Our work with communities and partners around the world continues as normal.
Your information
We are reviewing our systems carefully. If we find that any personal information has been affected, we will contact the people involved directly, in line with our privacy obligations.
We will never ask you for passwords or payment card details by email or phone. If you receive a message like that claiming to be from us, please don’t respond, and let us know at contact@worldmosquito.org.
When will the full site be back?
We’ll restore the full website as soon as our updates are complete and tested. We’ll update this page as things change.
Questions in the meantime? Email contact@worldmosquito.org.
